Resolution on Self-Determination in the Middle EastResolution on Self-Determination in the Middle East10 Aug 2008The 34th General Assembly of the World Student Christian Federation reaffirms the 2004 resolution entitled “A Call for the Immediate Withdrawal of Military Troops in Iraq” and reaffirms the 2004 resolution entitled “Regarding Unrest in the Middle East”. We acknowledge, however, that occupation and unrest still exists in the Middle East. Moreover, the 34th General Assembly of the World Student Christian Federation commits to accompanying the people of Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Lebanon and other peoples around the world who struggle for their self-determination in the face of imperialism. We, the 34th General Assembly of the World Student Christian Federation, affirm that self-determination is the right of all people and therefore stand in solidarity with oppressed peoples’ legitimate struggles for liberation.
