Rev. Deborah DeWinter, from the US Office of the World Council of Churches sends her greetings to the General Assembly and appoints David Fraccaro as a living representation of the 34 member churches.

You will find the greeting message below:

Dear Friends in Christ,

On behalf of colleagues in the US Office of the World Council of Churches and members of the 34 member churches of the US Conference for the World Council of Churches I send warm greetings as you gather for this historic occasion of the 34th General Assembly of the World Christian Federation hosted in the great city of Montreal.

We are with you in Spirit and our prayers will be accompanying you day by day. We are also sending David Fraccaro, the Young Adult Ecumenical Formation Coordinator for the US Conference as a "Living Letter" to the Assembly on behalf of our member churches in the United States to express in person our message of love in Christ Jesus and our expression of solidarity as you gather to discern the prophetic word that the Spirit would have you speak through this Assembly.

And this is my particular prayer for all our "sons and daughters" of this one family we belong to in Jesus Christ as you gather from across the globe in Montreal:

"If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ,if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my job complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose." (Philippians 2: 1-2)

We celebrate the vitality and vision of young ecumenists - and we give thanks for their legacy that gave birth to the modern ecumenical movement.

Your sister in Christ,

Rev. Deborah DeWinter
Program Executive for the United States
