WSCF appoints General Assembly Co-ordinator![]() WSCF’s Canadian GA Host Committee is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Jane Sorensen, as the new Co-ordinator for the upcoming 34th WSCF General Assembly this August. " We are really pleased to have found someone who is familiar with the Canadian context and who has proven experience in non-profit organising as well as planning and logistics for international conferences. Jane will be in the best position to help us coordinate on the ground in Montreal from this point onwards", said GA Host Committee member and WSCF North America regional Treasurer, Ms. Catharine Johannson. Ms Sorensen comes to the role from a background in management, non-profit sector organising and public relations work, which provides her with all the necessary skills to oversee logistics and coordination for the upcoming Assembly in August. Jane is excited to be working with WSCF, as one of her long term goals is to take up a leadership role in the NGO sector, “Ideally I’d like to work towards a governance position in a non governmental/non-profit environmental organisation, where I would work directly with stakeholders, helping them develop and achieve results that make both practical and ethical sense” she said A speaker of English and French, Ms. Sorensen will take up the GA Co-ordinator role as an interlude in her post-graduate management studies at McGill University, Montreal, where she also takes papers in religion. Jane Sorensen will start work in the full-time role of GA Co-ordinator from April 15 and will continue in the position till the end of August 2008, following the conclusion of the General Assembly on August 11.
