WSCF held its 34th General Assembly in Montreal from August 1-9, 2008. The Assembly brought 200 students and young leaders from national Student Christian Movements in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Latin America and Caribbean and North America regions together for an intensive programme of study, training and action on the theme "Your sons and daughters shall prophesy" (Joel 2:28). Set to invigorate the global Christian student Movement and the wider ecumenical movement, the GA focused attention on social and political justice, solidarity and advocacy and theological and Biblical reflection on contemporary issues for youth and people’s movement building.
Founded in 1895, WSCF is a global Federation of 105 national Student Christian Movements committed to justice, peace and empowerment of Christian students in their call to live out Gospel values as leaders in today's world.
